On a rainy Saturday evening in DC, Oliver Wood, Chris Wood and Jano Rix also known as the Wood Brothers brought a little ‘heart’ to the city. The renowned folk-rock trio took the stage at The Anthem and delivered an unforgettable performance showcasing fan favorites as well as new music off of their 8th studio album, Heart is the Hero.
The Wood Brothers seamless blend of folk, blues, and rock gripped the audience from start to finish. Oliver Wood's soulful vocals resonated throughout the venue. Chris Wood's virtuoso bass lines created a rich and dynamic foundation for the songs, while Jano Rix's masterful percussion and unique instrumentations added a delightful layer of texture. These guys never disappoint.
Whether sharing anecdotes between songs or encouraging sing-alongs, they fostered a genuine connection with the audience that made the concert feel like an intimate gathering among friends. The band's infectious energy was contagious, resulting in a palpable sense of joy and enthusiasm that filled the venue.
