On March 3rd Tedeschi Trucks Band delivered another soulful performance during the fifth night of their six-show run and at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington DC. From the opening notes of Hear My Dear, the band showed why they are one of the most acclaimed live acts in the world.
Susan Tedeschi's powerful vocals and Derek Trucks' dynamic mind-bending slide-guitar playing were complemented by a tight rhythm section composed of Tyler Greenwell (drums), Isaac Eady (drums) and Brandon Boone (bass).
Providing the harmony and vocals were Mike Mattison, Mark Rivers, Alecia Chakour, and Gabe Dixon (keyboards). The masterful horn section made up Kebbi Williams, Elizabeth Lea and Ephraim Owens wove their powerful, rich tones into the mix. This band is unstoppable.
The setlist was a mix of old and new songs, showcasing the band's versatility and range. TTB played several tracks from their new album, I Am The Moon, including Pasaquan, La Di Da and Take Me As I Am. Before intermission, Susan Tedeschi sang a jaw-dropping rendition of I Can’t Make You Love Me. During the song, the room was completely silent and Susan’s beautiful voice rang through all of Warner Theatre. Check out the full setlist below.
The Warner continues to be a perfect setting for the band's performance. The acoustics in the room are incredible and its cozy setting always creates a feeling of community and friendship in the room. The audience at a Tedeschi Trucks Band show is a whole different and wonderful animal.
