February 15, 2019 is a date burned into the hearts of every brother and sister in the Tedeschi Trucks Band family. It marks the debut of the band's latest album Signs in conjunction with the passing of musical titan, Mr. Kofi Burbrdge. Kofi was a driving force behind the album and one of its largest creative contributors. The band also began a two night stand at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., Kofi’s childhood hometown. They played through their new LP with the exception of the last track, “The Ending.” The second half of the evening gave way to classics like “Midnight in Harlem” and “Bound for Glory.” The band will appear again at the Warner Theatre this evening, February 16, to honor their friend and bandmate.

On a personal note,
As a longtime fan of Tedeschi Trucks Band, I’ve always loved listening to Kofi’s meandering flute and piano solos while TTB jammed. He had the power to take us on a journey and generate the kind of music that wove its way into your very soul with unparalleled grace. It is undoubtedly going to be an emotional evening at the Warner Theatre as both fans and band members support each other during this difficult time. This band has an amazing community surrounding it. Their shows are filled with so much love and energy, you can feel it in the air. Their music has a lofty richness to it, unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. What a privilege and an honor it's been to see Kofi play out his passion on stage with such an amazing band and music community. I look forward to being with my music family and friends this evening. Much love for Kofi and the fam.
