Larkin Poe Ignited A Non-Stop, Pedal-To-The-Floor Night Of Rock And Roll At The 9:30 Club | 3.9.23

On March 9th, the walls of the 9:30 Club shook during an electrifying set put on by none other than Larkin Poe. The incredible sister duo composed of Megan and Rebecca Lovell set the night ablaze with their electrifying blend of rock, blues, and Americana.

The Evening opened indie-folk duo Tall Heights, consisting of Paul Wright on cello and Tim Harrington on acoustic guitar. Their sound has been compared to that of artists like Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, and Iron & Wine, blending elements of indie-folk, Americana, and even pop music.

Moments before Larkin Poe took the stage, the energy in the 9:30 Club was palpable. With guitars in hand and voices in perfect harmony, the sisters launched into a soul-jarring set that filled the room with pure rock magic. Rebecca and Megan (the slide queen of the south) tore into the opening lyrics of Strike Gold a track off their new album, Blood Harmony.

Throughout the night, Larkin Poe engaged the crowd with their witty banter and infectious enthusiasm. The sisters' stage presence was captivating, with each song building on the last to create an unforgettable musical journey. Highlights of the night included the driving rifts of "Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues," the ominous tones of "Mad as a Hatter," before capping off with a soulful encore of Deep Stays Down. Check out the full setlist below.

Larkin Poe's performance at the 9:30 Club was a triumph. Rebecca and Megan are conjuring a new era of Rock and Roll while paying respects to many of its original African American creators and they pull it off with incredible grace and precision. For anyone who loves rock, they are must-see.

On April 6th, Larkin Poe will kick off their Blood Harmony tour in Australia and New Zealand. They return to the states on May 4th, for the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Check out the full photo gallery from the evening below and visit Larkin Poe’s social media links below to learn more info.
